someone asked me if i would ever kill a white character to inspire an african american one? i have.  his name is miles morales. bi-racial, i know.  but he stars in a book i co created with almost no ‘white’ people in it. 

and there’s an argument that says his success changed the course of a lot of mainstream comics.  i am insanely proud of my part in that. 

i exec produce one of the only Tv shows on the air with an african american female lead (or an african american female superhero) 

i’m not saying it buys me a pass, it does not. but when you put it in context of my work overall… it shows where my heart lies. i see a colorful world of fascinating people of all walks of life.  good stuff will happen to them and bad stuff will happen to them.  you know, like real life.
